Variable-data printing (VDP) (also known as variable-information printing (VIP)) is a form of on-demand printing in which elements such as text, graphics and images may be changed from one printed piece to the next without stopping or slowing down the printing process, using information from a database or external file. For example, a set of personalized letters, each with the same basic layout, can be printed with a different name and address on each letter. Variable data printing is mainly used for direct marketing, customer relationship management and advertising and invoicing.

Using high capacity electronic printing with state-of-the-art Xerox cut sheet laser printers, we offer monochrome (black) printing as well as full colour digital printing up to oversize A3, on paper weights between 70gsm and 250gsm. We use XMPie™ as the platform for our digital printing which allows us to print from almost any data stream to create your direct mail pieces, bills, statements, policies or fundraising communications.

For high quality campaigns that use of mix of offset and digital, our state-of-the-art Heidelberg presses can achieve almost any look you desire.

Colemans Printing employs six full-time pre-press specialists, graphic designers & illustrators. We thrive on the ability to see projects through from concept to completion, with our designers having a thorough knowledge of all relevant software packages, as well as understanding capabilities for individual printing requirements. This includes the opportunity for our clients to communicate directly with our artroom through FTP (File Transfer Protocol) services, which allow large electronic files to be uploaded directly to our servers.

All of our automatic inserting is completed on Bell & Howell 4 and 6 station inserters, which are fitted with IntelMail and Milcon Mail Systems folders. We offer mail matching using OMR barcoding systems to handle all types of transactional mail – up to 7 pages per customer(for specially designed packages). Envelope sizes range from DLX (235mm x 120mm) right up to C4 (324mm x 229mm). We can also fold items separately on our Euro folders to be added as extra inserts into your marketing package (up to six inserts in an envelope). Whatever we can’t fit on the inserters are always done in our hand inserting department.

Hand fulfillment is the manual sorting and inserting of items, premium products, posters or any other type of piece which must be inserted into any type of container. Large areas are set up to handle a variety of jobs and we fill the orders as we receive them. If it can’t go through a machine – it doesn’t mean we can’t do it for you!

Although postage costs can vary depending on the project, for premium customers we guarantee the lowest per unit price for postage available both domestically and internationally.

Through our expert industry suppliers, we can provide total mail management solutions; handling both bulk deliveries and carefully targeted deliveries to segments of your market. This includes having your mail picked up from our premises and transported to the delivery centre for fast processing.

We can co-ordinate your communication event with any preferred supplier; alternatively
we would be happy to recommend a choice of local and interstate suppliers depending on
the campaign requirements.

We understand that your database is your livelihood and we have engaged a number of key strategies to ensure the security and protection of your database at all times.

We offer high levels of security to ensure that your material remains confidential, including overall facility monitoring; lock-down areas; and security cameras operating within production areas to ensure continual monitoring of the operation. All production areas are restricted for authorized staff only for your peace of mind. We also have dedicated storage areas to ensure that your materials will remain secure, clean and safe to maintain the highest quality. Shredding of all waste and make-up material is standard practice for all production and administration areas.
