Darwin Factory

Colemans produces the vast majority of work on-site at its Cavenagh Street factory, on state-of- the-art printing machinery, led by our flagship Heidelberg presses.

The Heidelberg Speedmaster 52 (total print size 520mm x 360mm) is a 4 colour machine with the capacity to generate an additional sealing and drying process, dramatically reducing turn-around times.

Alice Springs Factory

Jeremy Bigg, Manager of Coleman’s Printing in Alice Springs is a happy man. In the past twelve months he’s orchestrated the company’s move into custom-built premises and seen the installation of a new Heidelberg Printmaster 52-4 colour press.

History

Colemans Printing started trading as Darwin's first commercial printer in 1952 as JR Coleman Pty Ltd, under the stewardship of founder and family patriarch John "Colie" Coleman.

From those early days, the company has seen a number of changes take place, most notably in mid-1974 with the retirement of "Colie" seeing sons Gary and Patrick take over. Just six months later Colemans Printing, like most homes and businesses in Darwin, was devastated by Cyclone Tracy on Christmas morning.
