Personalised Direct Mail – FAQ
Frequently asked questions relevant to mail campaigns
- What is variable data?
If you know your own customers intimately – their needs, preferences and likes or dislikes – you are already ahead of the rest of the field. But to then communicate with them using that knowledge you have gained takes you streets ahead. By using your databases in print-based direct marketing products, we can produce campaigns that allow you to make the most of your database and further strengthen the relationship with your customers.
Variable data printing is a form of on-demand printing in which elements such as text, graphics and images may be changed from one printed piece to the next without stopping or slowing down the printing process, using information from a database or external file. For example, a set of personalised letters, each with the same basic layout, can be printed with a different name and address on each letter. Variable data printing is mainly used for direct marketing, customer relationship management, advertising, invoicing and rates notices.
Using high capacity digital printing technology, in black or full colour, we are able to customise each printed item so that it is unique such as your customers name and address. We can help you create your direct mail pieces, bills, statements, policies or fundraising communications.
- Do you need pre-press or graphic design support?
Our fill time pre-press and professional designers have thorough knowledge of relevant software packages as well as understanding the capabilities for individual printing requirements. This includes the opportunity for our clients to communicate directly with our artroom through FTP (File Transfer Protocol) services, which allow large electronic files to be uploaded directly to our services.
