Frequently asked questions relevant to mail campaigns
What is variable data?
Variable data printing is a form of on-demand printing in which elements such as text, graphics and images may be changed from one printed piece to the next without stopping or slowing down the printing process, using information from a database or external file. For example, a set of personalised letters, each with the same basic layout, can be printed with a different name and address on each letter. Variable data printing is mainly used for direct marketing, customer relationship management, advertising, invoicing and rates notices.
How do we achieve variable print?
Do you need pre-press or graphic design support?
Our fill time pre-press and professional designers have thorough knowledge of relevant software packages as well as understanding the capabilities for individual printing requirements. This includes the opportunity for our clients to communicate directly with our artroom through FTP (File Transfer Protocol) services, which allow large electronic files to be uploaded directly to our services.
Can inserting into envelopes be achieved?
We can insert up to 6 items in one run including a folded letter and a linked statement or invoice and a DL marketing card, as examples. We can insert agreed inserts into envelopes as per our clients requirements. We can also manually sort and insert items, premium products, posters or any other type of piece which must be inserted into any type of ‘container’. Large areas are set up to handle a variety of jobs and we fill the orders as we receive them. If it can’t go through a machine – it doesn’t mean we can’t do it for you!
Can you provide labels?
We offer label application either by hand or via machine – a variety of choices are available.
Do you handle bulk mailing?
Colemans understands all requirements in regard to responsibility for delivery to assigned locations. We are an approved Bulk Mail Partner which enables us to take advantage of Australia Post’s discounts. We have demonstrated experience having handled large bulk mail runs for many of our clients.
